Kokopelli Soap

One of the legends of Kokopelli says that he travels from village to village, blowing his flute and changing Winter into Spring. When I made this soap I think I heard the magic of his song.

In honor of the beginning of Spring and as a tribute to Kokopelli I made this cold processed soap using Thai Coconut fragrance oil from Southern Soapers. I can still hear the sound of his flute.

  1. When I lived in Arizona teaching school on the Navajo Reservation, neighbors used to invite me to go to nearby Zuni celebrations that often involved Kokopelli. It's an image very familiar to me, and what a great idea for a soap. Given that the Zuni people associate Kokopelli with rain, this seems especially appropriate for a soap. (
